Session 4

Heroes: Ragnarr, Fundin, Aerandir, Greyfox.

YEAR 2946 - Autumn

Too soon the dreaded battle comes, first with a nightly assault by the orcs, repelled with heavy costs by the Woodmen. But during the following day, the troops of the Elvenking arrive to bolster the tribesmen, and the Heroes decide to attack during daylight.

The orcs are first taken by surprise and slaughtered in great numbers, but they rapidly re-organize and rush for the barricades of Woodland Hall. In the fields outside of town, a great battle is fought, ending only when Aerandir skewers the Orc chieftain on his sword.

Leaderless, and with Radagast finally appearing on the field of battle, the Orcs are routed: the Woodmen hail the Heroes as "the Saviors of Woodland Hall".

YEAR 2946 - Winter

Fundin and Ragnarr return to Esgaroth, where the dwarf spends some of his hard-earned gold in a finely crafted girdle, while the barding spreads tales of the company's heroics, seeking to soothe his weary soul. Aerandir and Greyfox remain with the Woodmen of Woodland hall, and spend the winter hunting with the tribesmen.

YEAR 2947 - Spring

Travelling through the wilderness outisde Lake-Town, the Heroes hear the helping cries of young Belgo: it seems his merchant father is under attack from his own caravan guards! The Heroes run to the scene, where they see Baldor surrounded by several Thugs. A few choise words is all it takes to the famed Heroes to send the scoundrels running in fear.

Baldor thanks the Heroes, and they accept to accompany him and his son through Mirkwood to deliver their trade-goods. Baldor leads them to the shore of the river, where Elven rafts arrive to bring them to the gates of the Elven kingdom, through secret underground canals. There Baldor meets with his Elven allies, to plan the journey ahead.

The Heroes spend a few days in the company of the Elves, who eventually lead them on the Elf-Path of Mirkwood, leaving them with a single advice: don't leave the path!
